Such a Busy time of YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies, I have misssssed you all!!!!!! Farming is hitting and lots of things are happening on fixing up little places on our farm.

This was taken from our front room window. It was so so beautiful. The whole sky was even brighter pink than this. I sat out on the front porch and read my Bible readying. The birds were singing.....guineas were squawking and roosters were doodling. Just beautiful!!!! I also prayed for you all.

I am having the time of my life.......I have not said much, but now I feel like I can. We just inherited 80 acres from my sweet man's parent's estate. We now feel like we can fix the farm up and it has been so fun......especially since we are on summer vacation!!!!  I can stay up as late as I want and get up as early as I want! Feel a little spoiled and very thankful!

Got a new roof on the little milk house.....now we are putting a picket fence around the side so the chickens can be out during the day! We put up chicken wire first.....then the picket fence. That way the can't get hurt in any way.

Before the rain came we were getting the ground ready for soybeans. Sounds beautiful when we here the tractor driving around the farm......love it! I will never ever tire of it!

Birch has been busy eating grass and leaves.....our son came out to work on his ground....... Birch was his friend! Isn't Birch huge? We can't believe how fast he is growing!

Had to show you who I saw in the garden.......love him!

Well, just had to stop in to say hello.........I am back out the door. Just cleaned the chicken milk house coop......now I need to lay some straw down. We finished getting the chicken wire around......Vitaliy and I will be putting up the picket fence now. Ekkkkk!!!! It is going to be so cute! I will take pic's when I finish it........are you doing anything on at your farm or home? Would love to hear about it.

Hugs and God bless!!!!!!!

Getting the Potter's Shed ready!

Sweet Ladies!!!!!

Talk about busy.....life has been so wonderful as far as my gardening and chickens!

The other day we were with some friends who have been dorm parents and are leaving in two weeks on a new adventure. We invited them for dinner last night. Talk about a sweet time!

Earlier in the day our daughter Taylor made her favorite rolls that we would use for our evening meal. I thought maybe you might want the recipe.....it is super easy....especially if  you need rolls in a hurry! No Knead Dinner Rolls  Our meal was simple

Homemade rolls (shaped like hamburger rolls)
lunch meat (each piece rolled on a plate)
cheese
Salad/Olive Garden dressing
Chips
Pink lemonade or sweet tea
and sweet fellowship!!!!!

Super easy!!!!!!! I can't stress my self out on elaborate meals. Not that I wouldn't want to, I just wouldn't have families over if I had to do that!!!!!

I went out to the Potter's Shed and started cleaning. I had such a sweet time out there. My little Henny Penny and Mr. Roo were on a little stroll as she was scratching her some buggie food. They talked and talked at me! You can see her coming out of this little cubby hole where I have window panes. She would go in.....he would go in......she would come out.....he would come out......they did that for quite sometime and I could hear them clucking with one another! I enjoyed their company!!!! Chickens can truly be your pets!

There was a lot of sweeping to do because the Potter's Shed is right next to the horse corral. We love it that horses are near! I got that done and made these little lamps for the table and around the shed.

I took the top of a solar outdoor light and placed it on top of a large mouth jar that I get from the college. Adorable!!!!!! My sweet man helped with the CHRISTmas lights so we had plenty of lighting.

Now for the bugs! I was given two of these Tiki lights for my birthday.......they would come in handy. Couldn't believe how well they worked! Perfect for all the bugs that have been around the farm since there has been so much rain.

Here are a few of the things I did to fix up the outside and inside. Added some fake geraniums to the bike......

spruced up the bow on Missy Angel....

took some of my little antique clay pots and put tea lights inside........

we were ready for company!

Tressa bought me adorable plastic goblets on sale at target....we used our tin floral plates.......simple!

My sweet man prayed over the family! That the Lord would use them mightily for His purposes......what a sweet gift for all of us!

We need to cultivate friendships.....it is important!

Hugs to your day and God bless you all reallllll good!

A Morning at the Farm!

Hello........sweet ladies,

Look here........my Momma Duck went to go on a stroll with Mr. Duck to the garden......I went over immediately to candle the eggs..she has 10 and 4 are fertile......OH PRECIOUS! I am so excited for her.......and me!

What a busy week I had last week.......and you......did you have the same?  We are getting so much done here on the farm and I can't seem to find time . I have been working in the garden.....planting and laying more paper and straw.......today I will tryyyy to get the tomato cages and stuff laid around them......tried last week......and then it rained again......so thankful for the rain!

This morning my sweet man went out to do some chores.....while out there.....look what he found....4 little cochin banty eggs. Now I put Henny Penny and Mr. Ro in with Birch so he would have company when his Momma Sweet Magnolia died. I was hoping that she would start a nest in the little shed. Had a big box with straw and everything for her......silly girl couldn't do that......she laid this nest right next to the shed outside without hardly any straw......and on the ground. Now that is not a good nest........right out side so a coyote could get her. She just wasn't thinking so human Momma....me has to help her be smart!

So I gathered them into my nightgown......just like any farmgirl would do!

Laid the four little eggs into the wood box I had a fixed for her way back.

She hopped out and squawked at me.......I don't think she wants her nest in the box......she wants it where she made it.

She hopped back down in the box though soon after, so that was good.

Mr. Roo went behind the box and was squawking and grumbling. I went into the hen house and gathered a few more eggs to add to her four eggs. I will take the chicks to the Yoder Auction in July. Love havin' babies on the farm!!!!!!!!

Look who is getting big.......Branch left and Lit' Bud right! They are really cute sheep!

Awwwww......last night something got into our big hen house......maybe a possum...... sweet man thought. It was a big rooster that died......I was going to take him to the June Yoder auction.......lost some money there!

Well, hope your day is going well......this morning on fb I put this verse up.......I love it! The part that stood out to me was the "anything according to His will He hears us". I know that He wants marriages restored.....in His Name.......He wants us to walk in obedience.....to His Word.......it gave me Hope to read this verse this morning......hope it give it to you also!

Hugs to your day.......from my farm,

Linda

The farm is so busy!!!!!!!!

Good morning sweet ladies, well it has been one week of busy!!!!! That is fine, it's just I didn't get to blog and so here I am again......hoping that you are all doing well!!!!!!!

I had to go on a quick trip to Lawrence unexpectedly and that was such a fun trip. Saw this adorable red truck!!!!!!! Oh my! Wish they delivered for free!

While in Lawrence I got to go to a greenhouse that is up there called, Henry's Plant Farm Greenhouse. It isn't one green house, it is a lottta greenhouses, 20 in fact. Beautiful place to go and the prices were wonderful. The plants were also so healthy.  I enjoyed all the little red wheelbarrows they had..... so you could gather up all your plants. Just a sweet little touch to make it a fun place to be! They also had horses, cattle, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens and lamas for everyone to enjoy. Oh and farm cats......tooooo fun!

Now it is planting time and the weather has been wonderful cool. Doesn't seem like summer yet! Very nice in getting some things done while it isn't so hot.

One of our college boys has been coming out to help after his job is finished for the day. A new roof on the Milk House......isn't it beautiful? I will be painting the little house to preserve the wood for some more years.......then a little picket fence will go up so all the teenage chicks can be outside and protected. I will show the progress as it happens!!!!!!! So enjoying the summer...it has been cooler outside.....perfect for working!

We have been getting a lot of rain......so wonderful for our garden and land! The roof was partially off...it rained 2"......it's okay Miah said because we will be putting in a new floor!

God is so good!!!!!! They worked later in the afternoon and got one side on. Will take all the front shingle stuff (they used to use to cover the wood to protect it) off the front of the coop and then paint when all the roof is finished.

They got the one side cut to fit......looks so nice! I am blessed and so very thankful! Our college son says he likes pecan pie......bought the ingredients.......making one today!

This is what I saw the other night......just beautiful!!!!!!

Been doing a lot of laundry!!!!!! Praising my Lord as I look up!!!!! He is blessings my days!!!!!

My shasta daisies are so beautiful this year.........never been able to grow them like this.  I want them all over the farm at some point!!!!!!!! Hmmmmm..... think I will go transplant some down at the mailbox this morning!!!!! Will give the mail lady a smile each time she delivers our mail!

Hugs to your day....... from the FARM!!!!!!!!!

Linda

P.S. My little guy is growing!!!!!!!! Acts like a dog and follows me everywhere!!!!!!

Hope your day is Good DAY!

Hello sweet ladies.......

It is SONday! Just a little post to let you know that you are so special to the Lord....and if you are in one of those tough times.....maybe you needed to hear that! This morning we were getting ready for church.....circumstances changed for us and we ended up having to stay home. Where we attend church they video the night before and it is available to watch anytime during SONday. We just got done watching it.......it was on prayer! I love prayer......I can do it anytime! He is my Daddy......my protector, provider.....lover of my soul and I can't imagine not getting to talk to Him! This last week lots of prayers have been going up. For my family......dangerous storms......Oklahoma and the huge tornado, then the continued tornados that kept hitting their state. I was encouraged this morning listening to the sermon to step up my prayers......I will be needing the Lord for His help. If you need prayer please let me pray for you!!!

Hugs to your SONday,

Linda

A Tutorial for "Little Clay Pot Light" Sweet and Simple!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies,

Not last night but the night before one of my Roes hopped up into my flower basket arrangement. Then as you see another Roo asked if their was some room......silly guy...when he hopped up he went deep down into the basket.....he thought he was invisible! Going to have to break them of the habit!

My job yesterday was to get all the greenery off the front porch. So ashamed that I hadn't found the time to do so before, but as I looked back on last year......so much happened between Dec and May.....it's okay we were seeing the Lord do amazing things.....mor important things!  LIFE when working outside the home catches up with me.

As I was working look at this sweet little nest I found. It has the tiniest little eggs, that had been rained on when the storms came through. The Momma was gone.....sad!

Oh my, I am having so much fun working on the farm. Started a working on the front porch. I had been out at the Potter's shed and saw all these little clay pots that someone had given to me way back.....I had an idea! All's I needed was a big gallon jar to start with!!!!!!!

I had these adorable antique little clay pots in the Potter's Shed.....a string of CHRISTmas lights and I started adding to my gallon jar  one little pot to the bottom........started adding the lights starting with the unplugged end.....added another pot and kept repeating the steps until I was happy. I think it turned out adorable!!!!!!! You could do a Beach theme and it would be adorable!!!! Really anything would work.

I set the "Little Clay Pot Light" in a basket with a plant next to it!!!!!!!! SWEET and SIMPLE.....that is what I like! If you have some ideas on how to use it let me know.......I love learning from others! Now we can sit outside at night with a new light! Hope you like and have some ideas of your own.......this being HOME on the FARM......is just way to much fun!!!!!!!!

Hugs and God bless your day!
