I Have to Show You Something!

Hello Sweet Ladies.............

I got a call tonight. From a very precious friend that lives in Texas. I was having a tough time and she called..............at just the right time.......God's time. You know when things are going on in your life and then someone calls and you know that God has a message He wants to tell you......... using that person? He used her ................I am so thankful ..........in a nut shell she said to trust. Then I remembered this video that I watched at a very low time in my life. Please listen to it. It is so worth it!!!!!! I promise! It does take almost 9 minutes..............you won't be sorry........ if you watch it. Especially if you need to be encouraged. I want to trust...........it is hard...........but I am telling the Lord to help me. That is all He needs from me!

Hugs from the farm...........love you all very much!

Thank you to all that have left me notes these last few weeks.
It has been so appreciated.

Back To Work!

Good Morning............. sweet ladies!

I feel rested!! Now anyway. I had to show you this picture. The college I work with has a bunch of men that play the bagpipes. Look at his getup! I was in Miss Sherry's office and I heard all this noise going on in the kitchen..............it was the Head janitor!!!!!!! Amazing music! Not my type, but I can appreciate it. I had to show you. I thought it was quite interesting. Not everyone has a bagpipe in their kitchen! He was practicing for us.........they were having some kind of special assembly.

Had such a wonderful weekend..........hope it was the same for you! We will have a busy day today baking in the kitchen. If you have any good desserts or breakfast breads I neeeeeeed recipes. You can email them to me (email at top right)! I would love some help.

Spent time yesterday just sitting around and collecting some new recipes. Bought some plastic sleeve covers to slip the papers in. That will work great. Have a clip board that I made and I will be set. Also bought a lemon zest grater....... I can't wait to try it out.

Little Red and Big Red were dusting..............again. He is huge and she is so little. They are great friends.

All the babies we had this weekend are doing great! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone decorating for Fall yet..........send all of us your way if you are. Leave a comment and we will come over to see. I am getting a little itchy myself. Hmmmmmm what to do first?

May God bless your day ladies...........I will be thinking and praying for you!

The girls came to me yesterday and said, " We tried to move the door........but it kind of fell apart. MOVE THE DOOR........FELL APART? I am a scavenger. The Lord Always Amazes Me! I am So Thankful I Am HIS!!

You are welcome to use this photo on your blog if you like.

Mr. Phil bought me this adorable bench..............I love it. The other night he moved it on the front lawn in just the right place............ we could watch the harvest moon come up. It was beautiful. I snuggled in a quilt right next.................and we talked and enjoyed the Cicada bugs and frogs making their noise of the night. I think I am appreciating time more...........I know God has many things for us to learn as He stretches our family into His image. As you all know sometimes that is right where you are supposed to be...........but if you are like me...........I wiggle! Smile! I am thankful He has me in His clinched fist. He knows best.

Good Morning sweet ladies from our FARM!

I am home and loving it this morning! I went outside in my NIGHTGOWN and looked around my farm. The sun is shining and it is very cool outside. What more could a Farm Girl want? It is kind of funny............ I am seeing everything with new eyes. The fact that I don't get to be home in the mornings makes the mornings very special when I am............ home.

I have to tell you about when I got home last night from work. I had to put in 2 1/2 hours of overtime so I was a little late coming home. I had a special time awaiting when I got home.

I have a precious granddaughter (all three of them are precious), that all she wanted for her birthday was to come to grammies and bring her best friend! Sooooo last night was the beginning of the celebration. Living on a farm there is so much to do. Poppa and I drove into the front lane and Savannah and her little friend Lauren were running down the lane to great us. That is a special feeling for a Grammie to tuck into her heart on the rainy days. Anyway they were talking a mile a minute on what they wanted to do. I got out of my work outfit, cleaned up and got ready for the day. Tay came to me and whispered that she had made her a birthday cake.

The girls went to the heart shaped shelf, I have hanging on the kitchen wall. I have our aprons hanging on the pegs and each picked the one that suited them. I tied the apron strings in the back and off we went to wander. They led the way........we were on an adventure.......I was sure that would take me from one part of the farm to the other. I was tired............from the long week...........but I would never miss this..................I was blessed...............first we...........

.....saw Miss Red she was waiting out at the back door to greet us. The girls each took a turn loving on her and of course Grammie had to take a picture of each. I love the first pic of my granddaughter.

We then went to the coop to gather eggs............watered all the girls and boys............fed the baby ducks and Mrs. Puddleduck...........also all the little chickies in the little milk barn..................now........ they are off to the garden to the sweet potato patch!

Simple Farm Life at it's best!

If you have ever grown sweet potatoes you need to know to look for the places where there is a little mound or where the straw is raised up like a little hill. Then you start digging. There were squeals ever time they found another little hill and under they would discover another beauty!

We were eating watermelon this morning.................... Lot's of God Chatter was going on. They both have decided that they want to live on a farm. I told them I would give them an acre of land.............wow.......would that be fun to have all my grandbabies live close..........by our farm............teehee a seed planted...........love it!!! The girls want to have a watermelon patch.............they picked one from the watermelon patch................we ate.........as they look at all the seeds in their watermelon halves................"we could have a huge watermelon patch they chimmed"...........dreamers like their Grammie................I love life on the farm. The Lord is so good to me...........I am so thankful for His mercy!

When I came back into the house Muffin came scooting through the back porch door. She went straight for my pantry shelf on the back porch right to the little cubby hole on the bottom shelf. I knew something was up! Just last night I told the little girls that I thought she would soon be having babies.................she did............for Savannah's birthday..............Lord you are so into DETAILS!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU! Look at this little ones ears................so fresh........so new...........so precious.............Thank you Lord for life!

Here is a video.

Now just when you think that farm life can't get much more.............exciting........................WRONG!!!!!!

The little girls came running in the house............all excited. They said that they just saw two little baby chicks..................in the BIG CHICKEN PEN. Yikes!!!!!! Daddy roosters are in the chicken pen................!!!!!!!! I ran out of the house so fast.............yes ..........at 58 I can still run..........really fast in cases of emergency.................... still in my nightgown.............barefoot.............. sure enough there was the Momma Chicken and two babies. One black and one yellow. I was scared to pick her up................but I did anyway.................right then the little ones went on the other side of the chicken wire................OH MAN..............I kept putting her close to them .............. she called them............the little girls got one each...............I had a chicken cage already set up...........because remember I let the other teenage chickens out of the pen the other day?

You can't see the golden one.............it is hiding...........but here is the black one..........allllll snugged with it's Momma. The girls have named the black one Princess and Goldie for the yellow one. Nice names I would say.................LIFE.......................MOMMA has a new name..........Miss Miracle!...............I like.................memories etched in their minds and hearts...........that our Creator is the best giver of gifts.

I know He is good! He gave us all you special Blogger friends!

WELCOME HOME PRAIRIE FLOWER!!!!!!! IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE
BACK HOME ALL DAY .............FOR TWO WHOLE DAYS!

I am learning appreciation. I thought I had it............guess not................have missed you all so MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

WELCOME ALL THE NEW FOLLOWERS..........I HAVE NOTICED!!!!!!

Hello!!!!!!!!! One More DAY!

Hello precious ladies!!!!! I have so missed getting to come over and visit your blogs. Look out this weekend!!!!!! I am putting this post up on Thursday night! I have had some problems with the internet. Hmmmm.......... not nice!

I am making my space at the college kitchen a little more like a home! Today I made time to fix up the shelves that I look at alllllllll day long. I was so excited. I only had time to take this one photo. I brought this little picture frame....... it is reminding me to pray...... that is something that has been real hard for me. When I am at work I am having to think about numbers and measurements all the time. I am retraining myself to think about the Lord more. When I was home it came natural, but with people around me asking questions and needing this and that I am soooooo distracted! I also have been taking a few more breaks........... I run outside and get some fresh air. It was really funny today..........they have a water air cooler and if you just sit there it sounds like a rippling creek. I kind of like the sound. They say that you have to take care of yourself. Hahahaaaa! I don't know how to get everything done, if I take to much time. Anyway it was really a treat to just lay some shelf liner down. Doesn't take much to make this little Momma happy!!!!!!!!!

Do you see this precious little flower? It has an orange outline!
The salad girls next to me found this adorable tomato. To think that the Lord knew that someone would see this...........and show it to me. God is so precious and so into details!!!! Yes, Lord....... I am talking about You. PRECIOUS! Thank you so much for the little flower You designed on this little cherry tomato! We noticed!!!! You are so amazing.

I made two Pumpkin Rolls, I had to decorate the plate (sorry it is blurry) for
the President and his guest!!!!! Of the college, not the USA.

Taylor made these pudding cups with real whip cream on the top. She even decorated the little glass cups. A whole team of football players were getting them and eating them and raving all about how good it was. Phil wanted to tell them that she (Taylor) was standing over there who had made them! It is so good he didn't Tay wouldn't have been happy! Smile! Our girls don't like any attention drawn to them. I guess that is a good thing.

Today we also cooked up 12 premade pie shells (I was so glad I didn't have to make them by scratch! Then we made this French Silk Pie filling to go inside the pie shells. Ladies it had so much 3 quarts of whip cream........butter.......powdered sugar...........chocolate chips..............more whip cream..........eggs..........it was heavenly. It is just plain num!!! I sure hope I don't put on weight. So far I am loosing. Tressy said yesterday she walked over 4000 steps. Something on her ipod tells her that. I was doing the same as her so I probably do the same! One lady said she just looks at the food and it jumps on her body!! She is so funny! Anyway I thought you would like to see the big mixing bowl with the pie filling in it. I had the silk everywhere!!!!!!

It was a good day of baking. Nooooooo mess ups today! Tay made another Blueberry Coffee Cake for breakfast on Friday. It looked so beautiful! She is doing so well. I am really proud and they are using all their skills. Math, reading, spelling........... life living and learning. Can't get better then that.

I never thought I would ever have a recipe blog. I will not forever......... I will figure out a way to keep the craft ideas coming. I have to start thinking of CHRISTmas!

Thought you might like to see my Little Miss Red. She was so funny! Moved all the little chicks that are a few months old out of their little pens so they can move around in the Milk Barn. I need to take some pictures of them and the little ducks. I think I will let the little ducks loose this weekend. I have to think about it and talk to Mr. Farmer Phil....I am not sure if it is safe yet for them to be with the other three big ducks. I think I will ask that question on Homestead Revival.

I heart you all............you are very precious friends!

You can tell me what is going on in your day!!!!!!!! I will be baking............

Applesauce Cake!

Hugs from the farm!

Two More Days!!!!!!

Don't these look nummy? They are onion rings that are put on a sandwhich using the Focaccia Bread. Also roast beef, veggies and italian dressing!!!!!!! It is delicious! You sliver the onions. Hmmmmmm good!

Hello.............sweetie ladies,

This has been a beautiful day outside! The sun was shining and I treated myself to it quite a few times today! I have 20 minutes of breaks, but I never really take them. So when I have to walk to the freezer or refrigerator I would walk through the big open back door and just look around at the all the green trees and grass and smell the fresh air. You know it really helped me. We listened to Christian music all day at work also. That really was nice! They don't care!

This afternoon I came home and there was a package in the mail. I opened it .............it was wrapped so sweet.............. and I looked inside! Isn't it adorable??????? Look at my new apron! Thank you Jeannie! That was so thoughtful. You made my almost two weeks of work worth it!!!!!

Everyday I have to make at least 2-4 pans of Focaccia Bread. I FORGOT TO PUT IN THE YEAST! I about panicked, then I said to myself, don't panic get on the internet and see if someone else has done this. I typed in.........."have you ever made bread and forgot the yeast"?YES! Someone else had. They said make a paste out of the yeast and water. Brush it on to the bread and fold it into the bread. I took my hand and smeared it on..........folded it in and then I threw it back into my big mixer and put the dough hook on. It got beat around a bit and I put it back into the proofer. It rose and I made this.......... below picture. It was the recipe that I put up this morning. The first one (it is working now if you tried before. It is wonderful. The only difference I do from the recipe is I put in a hand full of parmesan into the dough and on top.

My friend Alicia found me the neatest site and blog. Here it is.
The blog is called

The cooking site is called

I have you!!!!!!!!

Hope Your Day Was Nice, Mine Was.

Hello sweetie ladies!
This is going to be the fastest post I think I have ever put up! We had an unexpected trip to Best Buy in Wichita today, right after work. We just got home and I have to get to bed, but wanted to thank you all for the neat ideas that you had for the window. I loved all your comments and it is so fun to come home to!

Today went real smooth. I made focaccia Bread for 100. I was trying to do it the way Mr. Chef wanted me to and it just wasn't working for me. I did it like I did it at home and they were a seller! He loved the two kinds I did. I have so much fun with all the fresh herbs that are available to me. I even put some garlic into some olive oil so it will be ready for more bread tomorrow. I will give you the two recipes that I used today! The first one turned out wonderful! I used parmesan on the dough. Put about 1/2 cup as you mix it up. I use it on the top also!

Sorry for the dinky pictures. I used the pic's from allrecipes.com. I love this site. They will convert my recipes to the servings I need. I don't have to think. Yes!!!!! In my little stressful job right now as I am learning all this stuff I need easy!. It is a life saver!!!!!! We slice the bread width wise and layer every kind of meats and veggies!!! They look so pretty. I will take pic's tomorrow, if I have time. Today was a mad house! Mr. Chef said we will be making 24 pies for the weekend on Thurs. and Friday! Oh, man, I liked it at home so much better! I do miss my home terribly! Ladies......... that get to stay home are sooooooo blessed, coarse you already know that! Smile! I am so glad for you. I loved it for 37 years. When do they say we can retire? Heehee!

Focaccia Bread, This was my favorite! This has kind of an Artisan look to it. Click

Easiest Focaccia Bread , this makes up nice and thick, Click here

Told you that this was a fast post! Hugs and thank you again for all the sweetness!!! I love it.

I tried to answer the comments and for some reason blogger was not letting me. I will answer tomorrow. Maybe on my break!

I am praying God's blessings on your homes and family!

Blessings and hugs from the farm,

Good Morning!!

Hello sweeties!!!!!!!
I thought this was the coolest picture!
There is a company who are putting in new poles for the electric power lines. They are having to push out the old ones while still keeping the lines hooked on, so the electricity still goes to everyones home. It looked so pretty when the sun was going down and I have never seen anything like this. Thought it might be interesting for all of you to see.

Today I botched up 3 ............. you heard me 3 different recipes that I made up. One came home to our house for the chickens, and the other two............ I made them work!!!! Mr. Chef Q wanted me to try a new bread and the other I came up with for a breakfast bread. I opened the door to the oven to check on the breakfast bread and ALL FOUR PANS HAD GONE OVER THE TOP AND ALONG EACH SIDE!!!!!! Thank you Jesus that I had a cookie sheet under all of them! I shut the door and gasped!!!! I went over to get Tay so she could see. We both about had heart failure. It wouldn't have been so bad, but 4 pans. Oh Man!!!!!! So my first thought was okay............I need to find a place to hide these. Not a good idea.........where do you hide a 17" by 30" some pan..........so I placed them on my wood block at my station. I was sweating and just felt bad. Any way I let them cool and put them over on the shelf......... they were kind of out of sight............ so I could figure what I was going to do. Tay and I were kind of giggling at this point....... I always get the giggles when I am nervous and my deodorant truly failed me at this point! Heehee....... only kidding! They cooled and we tasted it. It was the nummiest bread you ever tasted.........and I am not exaggerating one bit. Mr. Chef Q came over and said, "what happened"? I couldn't lie.........I don't ever lie.......and I wasn't going to start now. I said, TASTE IT! He loved it. I said quickly, I have a plan........lets put it in the little cups! I love these little cups! You can put the stuff inside them and put whipped cream on the top! No kidding............ the kids will never know that is not the way it was to be. They had fresh apples and crumbs and bread and they were wonderful! What more could you ask for? The bread he wanted me to make was really nummy also........ it just didn't rise.......we still used it for sandwiches. I was so relieved. What the kids don't know........won't hurt them. I really was sweating it though. I am not sure why the picture turns out so yellow when I am in the kitchen. Maybe the lighting.

Here is my window pane!!!! Isn't it the cutest? What a special gift. I am not sure what I will do with it..........but it will be special! The family I received it from said that 20 years ago the wife had shown me this very frame and I told her to use it for pictures. She never did and the husband remembered all these years that I like it. He said she would have liked it if I had it. Sweetness!!!!!!!!!!! Made my heart smile!!!!!!

I will show you when I figure something out. Any ideas?

You all are the best!!!! Thank you for the prayers!!!!!!! The day was easier yesterday, because I kind of know where most of the things are in the storage room. That is helping. I still feel like I am running all the time. It will help when I learn my way around. I also found out that I am getting a new stove. Maybe this stove will take my breads and make them perfect for me. What a deal that would be!

It is so nice when 3 o'clock comes. I get to come back home..................I like that a lot! I am so grateful that everyone that I work with is absolutely the best. I love them all! That is a huge blessings in itself! God is so good!

The electricity when off last night........dog barking.........no sleep.............afraid we would sleep in........anyone out there identify? Hmmmmm!

Blessings and hugs from the farm..........thank you for loving our family so! You are such precious ladies!!!!!

Starting another Week, I LOVE WEEKENDS!

Hello sweet ladies,
Tressa brought 3 gold fish home the other day. It was so funny. We put them on the floor by Cassie and she just loved them. Was so cute to watch her. She would sit and sit and watch forever!

Can we just be friends?

She got thirsty and................

started licking the water. Tressa started shooting pictures. We thought that all the cat lovers would enjoy seeing the pictures. She didn't hurt them at all. She just shared their water.

Thank you all for your prayers. Our weekend was so much fun. The girls and I worked around the farm and in the kitchen. We did up 8 gallons of tomatoes and put them in the freezer and 2 1/2 gallons of blueberries put up. Can't wait to make some Blueberry Farm Pies. I will put the recipe up for you all. They are so easy to make.
Oh Heather I didn't get pictures of the Peach Farm Tarts. They were so cute. I will do that also.

At work today I will be making Strawberry Scones and Blueberry Scones! Not sure what else, but I have some ideas to try. I need to have 4 desserts tomorrow. I think I will be doing some more yeast breads also. I will take pictures.

My honey reads my emails. When I am writing I sometimes forget that. He wrote me back yesterday! Just like any other blogger! How fun is that? It was such an encouragement to me. Thought I would write in my blog journal (that is what I am doing with my blog, are you?)
This is what he said,

Yes, you made it through the week and not surprisingly, brought joy to many at the college. The Lord has you covered, and gave you some special gifts as reminders that His plans are for your victory.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Keep looking to Jesus, He has alreadly made the way; And He will not disappoint you.

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Keep looking for those "treasures hidden in darkness".
I will be right there with you, my Pretty Prairie Flower.
Love,
Phil

Hmmmmmm I love this man! Thank you Mr. Phil! SMILE!

He is a precious man man..............he is protecting his family. I am soooooo thankful that
we have had the chance to grown together all those years before we left our home to go work!

I also received a sweet comment yesterday from a sweet blogger friend, that I have personally never met and she told me that she pray for me through out the day all last week. She even got on her knees before our God on my behalf. I wept! I know so many of you have personally taken my precious family before the Lord!!!!!!!! I am in awe! I love you all.......... like you were my real family! I truly mean that! Thank allllllll of you for leaving me all the precious comments last week. You helped me want to even try in such a hard time. Today I feel better. God showed me that He had things in control. I am so thankful I have Him to lead me.

Thank you Gail and Mary! I read your comments this morning.........you made me smile and feel very very loved. Thank you!

I have a little figurine that says,

Wherever you go, always bring your own Sunshine,

I say Sonshine! I like that!

I received a phone call yesterday from a farmer friend. His precious wife died last year. He said he had a big old picture window with lots of panes. He said she would have wanted me to have it. I am soooooooo excited. Something to look forward to after work! I will put a picture up of it tomorrow!

KNOW that I will be taking you before the KING of KINGS today!

Blessings and hugs from the farm,
Linda
